Castlevania - Portrait of Ruin walkthrough digital version

I bought this not to help me along in the game, I bought this to have in my Castlevania collection. Generally if it has something to do with Castlevania I will own it. Strategy Guides are no exception. Play threw the first time try and get as much as humanly possible with out the guide, then when you finally beat it then go threw the guide and replay the game.

Keep in mind all my reviews for the strategy guides I own will be the same unless they bring something new to the table, because they are the same just for different games. So don't be upset because I cut and paste. I only do it in this for the guieds I own and I know it applies to. Thank you. If you get stuck on games like the average person this will help you get through the rough spots. I found it very helpful, easy to read, and well put together for the most part. My only complaint is all the secrets and bonus stuff is in the back of the book. I feel it should be in the walkthrough so you don't have to go back and forth to see if you missed something. or get an item so late that it is irrelevant anymore because you got it so late its too weak. But most Guides do this so this is not the only one with this flaw. Hope that helps you out

On the one hand, the guide seems to have very nearly all the information needed to progress in the game.It uses sketch maps with screenshots only of selected areas. (They did not attempt to do a screenshot of every square inch). On the other hand, you often have to look in multiple places before you find the part of the guide you need. It seems to be based on the assumption that the user will use it continuously as he plays, rather than as an checklist of items, and rather than as a tool when stuck. Every enemy gets a box with a drawing and a few sentences of text regardless even though figuring out how to kill enemies is not the main source of the challenge. Even with the guide, you won't be able to get every single item-- in some cases, an item is simply indicated by a number corresponding to a key.

I don't have much else to say other than that this guide has pretty much everything you need to complete the game 100%. It contains everything from how to complete Wind's quests, where to find skills and spells and even exact percentages for item drops from enemies. I encourage you to pick this guide up while you still can if you are having trouble finding everything.

I am impressed with the detailed instructions and screen prints. A must-have for those that get stuck in video games. Is is a completely detailed walkthrough of the entire game, a guarantee that you can finish the game.
