I'm a big fan of women auteurs and Justine Triet is no exception. Her singular vision is so packed with intimacy, grief, longing, and authenticity, all within a tight whodunnit package. The acting is just off the hook, Sandra Huller, Swann Arlaud, Milo Machado-Graner, and Samuel Theis have devastating performances. I can't imagine how fulfilling it is to see this film get so far. The cream really does rise to the top.

The film keeps you on the edge of your seat. It does leave you wondering about if she did it or not, but it's a satisfying wonder. It's so well filmed and it's not really about whether she did it or not. The film hits on other topics that are culturally important like why we stay when we are not happy.

Unfortunate that the lead female was not awarded the Best Actress at the Oscars. Bravo for winning"Best Screenplay." Great story that was as suspenseful as any action film without the need for over the top costumes, sexual exploitation or CGI.

Like many before me, I almost gave up watching this very early on with the enormous delay in the subtitles, making the quick-paced French-speaking scenes a miserable, confusing slog. I tried different devices/browsers/apps, to no avail. The trick is to switch the subtitles from "none" to "English". It is synced up perfectly, and doesn't include the CC stuff that often distracts and annoys.Don't let subtitling woes keep you from enjoying this excellent film!

Not always easy to watch but a great movie about how different people of different ages experience and tell stories of what happened before and during an accident. Helps people see the complexity and interpretations that people make in good faith and how they can still contradict each other. Also how the legal and law enforcement can see things in more black and white ways and miss the nuance, especially if they have preconceived notions.
