Excellent movie. very sad, tis the reality of war. great acting

This movie is great and brings to light a part of history that is often forgotten. In western culture we often focus so much on the western front and forget about the non-Jew people effected so terribly by WW2. I have researched the movie and, from my limited perspective, appears to be be very accurate. I have since visited the Church from the final segments and found the portrayal in the movie to be spot-on.A truly great movie and thrillingly entertaining. Cillian Murphy at his best.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this movie. Operation Anthropoid and the massacre at Lidice are 2 history topics my family frequently discusses (our family immigrated from Bohemia) so I was very interested in seeing this film, even though there wasn't much hype. I was amazed at how well done it was, and how thorough it was in telling the real story. I was holding my breath throughout because it made me feel emotionally invested in their cause, and rightly so. Highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to know about the unsung heroes of WWII.

At the beginning of the movie, the comment was made that maybe the exiled Czech leaders wanted London to see if the Czechs still wanted to resist the Nazis At the very end of the movie, just before the credits, text on the screen stated that Churchill declared the agreement with Germany null and void and that Czechoslovakia was a valuable ally of England. I'm not a history buff, but the assassination and the reprisals were the impetus in causing Churchill to make that momentous decision. It was a terrific movie.

One of the best films of 2016, and maybe the best that absolutely no one knows about it. It is a crime this film is not more widely knows. Acting is amazing and story is action packed, and devastating and courageous. Little known story of czech special forces Operation to Assasinate 3rd in command of the nazi hierarchy, Reynhard Heydrich during WW2, who was also knows as the Butcher of Prague. Harrowing tale of incredible bravery and sacrifice. See it.

We need more films like this to remember those who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy today. Our past must be continually reviewed to know the traits of tyrants who took the lives of heroes and recognize the system of oppression they that used so that we may uproot evil before it can grow again. History may not repeat in exact detail but its shape like a shadow on the ground is the dark form of familiarity.

I love history, especially military history. I love this movie because of the human side of such an incredible event. I read a few movie reviews that weren't very kind. I have to assume those reviewers really haven't got a clue what it's like to take a human life, no matter how justified, or what its' like to risk your life for a cause, no matter how big or small. I think this movies shows the difficulty real human beings face with these type of real life challenges.

Always learning history and you never go wrong with Cillian Murphy!! :)

This is a moving and historically accurate depiction of events surrounding the Czech resistance. I had not even heard about the assassination of Heydrich prior to seeing this film. All of the characters are carefully nuanced and solidly written. You care about all of them so that by the time they give their lives, you feel their sacrifice. This was an amazing unheralded film that everyone who is interested in WW2 history should see.

I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS MOVIE BEFORE TONIGHT AND WAS RELUCTANT TO WATCH IT AS THERE ARE SO MANY BAD MOVIES REGARDING THE WAR. THIS WAS A GREAT MOVIE!! I TYPICALLY WATCH A MOVIE WHILE I WORK AT PC BUT I ACTUALLY STOPPED WORKING AND WATCHED THIS MOVIE. IT WAS SPELL BINDING. EDGE OF YOUR SEAT STUFF. THE ACTUALLY WAS "A" MOVIE STUFF, THE HUMANITY OF THE CZECH FIGHTERS AND CIVILIANS. IF YOU HAVE 90 MINUTES YOU DONT WANT TO WASTE, WATCH THIS MOVIE!!
