haha I see people rating this movie poorly, proclaiming it's for liberal snowflakes. Wow, well if you call people snowflakes this movie might not be for you (just saying guys come on) and if you aren't very thoughtful about what human life is worth or what losing even one life means you probably won't like this film either, because it makes you think about that. It's amazing and well-acted. Makes you think about what the cost of war is every day to people living around the world that have lives very different than Americans or the European majority and are often times caught in the crosshairs in politics and wars they have nothing to do with.

Taught and emotional. Hold the car chases, Hold the gymnastic fight scenes and give the cinema verite (shaky-cam) a holiday. this little gem makes you hold your breath and sweat it out for the safety of a little girl selling bread on a street corner. I thought I'd be bored to tears watching this film but I found it to by quite the contrary. Not only a well conceived little drama about modern "remote control" warfare and global politics, but it also boasts an amazing array of the worlds best actors. Not a date movie but one you SHOULD watch.

Would highly recommend this movie --- I'm not a "war/military movie" type --- however, wanted to support my husband's choice for movie night and so glad I did --- this is a thought-provoking movie that leaves one thinking and debating long after the final credits have ended ---- not your typical military movie --- well worth one's time --- left us wondering how we would have "called the shots" while glad we weren't the ones making key decisions --- sure made us proud of ALL countries' military and intelligence (especially ours!) while appreciating how difficult current peace-keeping situations are for them as well as staying on top of all possible terrorist threats.

The complete package of a terrific movie - far better than the trailer. I agree with everything Naresh offered; Wonderful performances by Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul, Alan Rickman (RIP), and the wonderful wee child actress. This movie takes on a delicate and sensitive argument about modern warfare but doesn't glorify or villainize it politically. Instead it presents it for the audience to take away from the experience the depths of how it affects everyone involved. This is a dramatic, suspenseful, thought provoking, very well done movie that I highly recommend... As an aside, and I appreciate the incredible task the creators of a movie trailer must go through as too often movies trailers are better than the movie... This one's the opposite...

I thought this movie was very well done. I was suspensful, with great acting, and showing the problems the good guys have when they want to rid the world of these jihadist. Going to the Prime Minister for permission was as expected. Political leaders don't want to make any decision about international terrorism, but was forced to do the bidding of the Military folks (British General and a British Colonel) who wanted to make the strike on these monsters, but a young girl was in the picture and would be killed if the Amerikan drone pilot and assistant fired the missiles. At the end the little girl was fatally injured by the blast from the Amerikan drone.

I love Alan Rickman and Helen Mirren so that's why I chose to watch it. Both did a fantastic job as well as the rest of the cast. The film moves slowly at first, however that is point, but slow here does not mean boring. Every second wasted counts and the movie portrays that well. There is no easy solution in war either, ie civilian casualties, and the emotional toll it takes to weigh the thought of how much a life matters. I thought the film did a great job at highlighting this. As I always say, no one really wins in war, everyone looses something.

I was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. We were a special forces unit. I had to accept that there may well come a time that I would have to kill another human or humans for no other reason than the orders I received from my superiors. I chose to accept that responsibility to protect my country and the American people. It wasn't something I took lightly nor do the vast majority of service men and women. This movie really hit home for me for the crew doing the actual targeting and firing. Like Alan Rickman's character states "Never tell a soldier that he does not know the cost of war".

A very relevant, thought provoking movie. It was interesting seeing the difference between a military thought process, a political thought process, and a moral thought process when clearance to strike is needed. This movie kept me on my toes and questioning what I would have done in this situation and if I agreed with the decision that was made. This is not so much an action-packed movie with soldiers running and engaging in up close warfare, but it is still intense and tells a great story. So if you are looking for constant explosions and gun fire- don't watch this. If you want something that will present a deeper question that makes you leave asking what you would do, then watch this!

An interesting glimpse into the demoralizing paralysis of multi-national combat in the cellphone gaming era. In the end, we are made to feel guilty of killing a lovely little Muslim girl in fighting a greater evil - media coverage if they don't get it right. War is hell unless it is constrained by Political Correctness. Good acting, a thriller of a plot line and something always gets blown up - a well-worn formula. You could have told the same story without killing the little Muslim girl in the end. But then the sympathy factor would have been lessened. Oh My!

The cost of war is never a clear of what damage is done until years later. Even as bad as this has showed us we have soldiers who have seen this up close are committing suicide hear at home every day and when you stop and add that to the total cost witch is never done make war even more costly than we have ever dreamed. What is really sad I truly believe its the world Bank who fund this and make a tidy profit off all this is what's sad. And when its all over we find it was the corrupt Bankers who profit from every war in our History who stirred up the whole conflict for their profit and never what were told was the truth
