Armstrong has always been kind of a hero to me, and I guess you want to believe your heroes are perfect. This movie shows that he was outstanding in his career, but could've been a better father and husband. But sometimes I wonder how accurate movies like this are.

It's a shame that "First Man" is the perfect title for this film --which concentrates on the human side of sending Neil Armstrong to the moon -- because when it was released to theaters I assumed it was about cavemen or something. Instead, it's a lovely immersive story that captures the awe and beauty of sending humankind into space. Great script, great cast, and awe-inspiring special effects that never upstage the characters. good stuff.

The movie is non-fictional, real life hardly ever is as exciting onscreen as it is experiencing if in person. But this was still gripping as a “space enthusiast” I’m glad it in my collection. Also I bought used and shipped a new one. So

If you like drama this is the film to see. Special effects winner yet no action. This is a PG-13 film because children will fall asleep at this 2 hour plus film. Yet I thought Ryan Gosling would be nominated.

"Apollo 11" showed how risky manned space flight was and is; even more so than "Apollo 13" Apollo 11 follows the life of Neal Armstrong and his wife and family. Neal Armstrong is portrayed as intelligent and determined. The risks and cost, in lives, and the impact on the astronauts and their families, of learning to fly to the moon is depicted. Excellent movie.

While the mythos of extraordinary human accomplishment is important as an ideal to aspire to, we are still only human and require a reminding.I consider this telling an honest attempt at honest representation of the humanity which is in us and necessary in our quest to realize more.

Love the movie ... My only issue was that the 4k visuals not as clear on some scenes some seemed kind of pixelated ... I do have an lg 4k SUHD TV ...PLUS AN LG 4K PLAYER..BOTH HAVE HDR.... I feel like the blue ray version looks possibly better

I had seen an interview with Neil Armstrong's son, and was interested in seeing the film. It did not disappoint. I have watched many movies on the early space program , and this movie was one of the most personal of all the movies. The only thing I was disappointed about , is that they continued in this film to not include the Hidden Figures.

Having just graduated high school in 1969, I well remember both the Gemini missions and the Apollo missions. There certainly was controversy, excitement, and anxieties during these space ventures, especially the "firsts." This movie, First Man, well captures those realities. The fact, that Neil Armstrong's sons have stated that James Hansens' historical nonfiction book, First Man, was the best portrayal of their father and mother, lends further credence to the authenticity and genuineness of this movie.

This is a fantastic movie. It is so well done on so many levels and truly shows the humanity behind one of the most famous American astronauts. This movie was a breathtaking homage to a great man and an amazing American experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who is interested in learning about Neil Armstrong and/or the Apollo moon missions. It does cover a lot so it moves quite quickly in places but overall is a very visceral and emotional movie. Loved it!
