Jupiter Ascending

A lot of people reviewed this movie harshly, and I believe, unfairly. While I'm not saying it's the epitome of acting or script writing, I think that people failed to note that a key element of this movie is that it's supposed to be a sci/fantasy movie. If you don't like that type of movie to begin with, then you were predisposed to dislike this movie already. Has anyone seen Star Wars and thought, "This movie is incredibly well-acted and written?". I doubt it, but we love it anyway because we recognize right away that it's supposed to be different; not some existential commentary about life. This movie is excellent for its genre and even the potential of its storyline. It would have made a great book and I would have looked for more. Give it a fair shot if you like this genre of movie at all, otherwise pass.

Works perfect and arrived fast, A++

This would have been five stars - the story is outstanding, the characters are excellent, some of the fight scene between individual characters are amazing and really work. The space battles - meh. Over extended and visually overwhelming and not in a good way - several billion cosmic jacks to get through, it felt like a video game. That gets repetitive and you get to the point where is is distracting enough to drop you out of suspension of disbelief.But - the visuals are truly beautiful, the costumes amazing, the moral lessons work, much like the Matrix. I would highly recommend this - like Cloud Atlas, at the end you have a story that brings you to tears. A very ambitious movie and the fact that it doesn't make it all the way doesn't detract from it being one of the most original visual stories I have seen in many years.

It is a splendid production, visually gratifying and full of amazing surprises. As such, I truly liked it, and highly recommend it for every science fiction & action Pack movie fan. Yet, I could not permit to give this production a Five Star rating because in my modest opinion the story line was not fully developed, and, therefore, could not be very well explained to the viewers, who are most of the time so amazed by its visual splendor and the never ending action that he/she does not have a chance to stop and criticize the plot's obvious flaws, such as crucial additional details that might give more "sense" to the story line and a few obvious errors (like the question asked about dinosaurs destruction versus the mere 100,000 years of the time line provided - bearing in mind that the event which brought the Jurassic era to an end took place 65 million years ago). Great movie though!

Great movie full of action more importantly it鈥檚 a feel heed movie.And sinners the movie starts it will grab your attention and keep it.The movie gives you everything you want in motion suspense action and a good feel good ending everything you want in the movie the special effects are impressive

What chemistry the main actors had. The film showed action, surprise, adventure, love and more really good

The visuals in this movie are luscious and some of the CGI battle scenes are spectacular. The plot is somewhat simplistic and the bureaucracy scene was a waste of time. Also the weak premise that a interstellar industry would make some immortality serum from harvested humans - but only harvest them once every 100,000 years - why not just breed and cull them like cattle every generation? That just wasn't all that believable. And a mix of bad science and clever, imagined future science: - like they have the technology to rebuild Chicago in a couple hours BUT when Caine Wise crashes a hole in the shield dome on Jupiter they can't fix it - dumb things like that juxtaposed with the very clever technology of space ships having control surfaces that are only held on by force fields.Also the story was borderline epic with many potential story lines and subplots but it's mostly wasted. Could have become a series or been several sequels. Nevertheless worth watching as sort of a sci-fi warrior-fairy princess tale.

I almost didn't watch this after reading some of the negative reviews. It IS long, but in my opinion, it's far from boring!! Then, I also realized that I don't always agree with lots of the other viewers, so I decided to check it out after all and I'm glad I did! The cinematography was breathtaking and the performances by all were very good. The character of "Balem" would be rather a challenge, no matter who played him and I think Eddie Redmayne did a good job, considering. The character is supposed to be evil and menacing and sometimes that can be achieved by being soft-spoken and rather one-note: But, I do think it would've been a difficult role for anyone and I think that when "Balem" got angry and shouted, it did make him appear more menacing than when he remained soft spoken. I loved both Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis and the time passed by quickly for me. I would recommend this movie! I thought the storyline was very creative, as well and not just the usual "sci-fi flick" where space exploration goes terribly wrong for a crew of astronauts!

I loved this movie.... it's one of my favorites for some reason. Rad mythology. I love the Wachoski sisters... I just love pretty much everything they do. Much like M Night Shaleman, their characters have so much heart..they are just lovable, good, characters, sort of like if the world could be full of the people you would want it to be... bad guys, sure. But the good guys are really good guys. I can tell they're both INFPs, ha. The story is pretty freaking genius too. I really think critics panned it because their just all jealous. They don't create anything. They just make a living criticizing what other people dream, what other people create, and actually DO. I mean, how lame would it be to be a critic for a living, seriously? I would die in shame. Although I can't imagine anyone not liking this movie, Trump is President. So I'm sure if you're a Trump fan, you might not like it. Might have too much heart, and maybe soul..

I was entertained by this movie. I watched in defiance of critics and wannabe critics. The whole idea of critics has soured the movie goer. It seems the movie goer can't just appreciate a film for what it is--a movie. Yes, there are badly made movies; but this this film wasn't badly made. Production values were there. So, you liked it or didn't like it--and leave it at that. I enjoyed it. It reminded me of old pulp-fiction science fiction; and for that reason I liked it. It is just a movie. Critics haven't improved movie making. Critics just have a nine to five job and make stuff up--you know they opinionate about the movie. So, I recommend this movie. Watch it from a viewpoint it being a movie not something to declare is a work of art or a disaster. After all, you are not getting paid for your opinion like the professional critic is.
