Thank you to all military, active, retired and ones we lost. You don't get enough credit for what you do for our country. Some of the jobs may seem mundane, but each one is relative to another, so all of them are important. .. This movie is very moving and depicts a wonderful story between dog and handler. I hope going forward, that handlers will not have such a difficult time in trying to adopt their dogs. The dogs love their handlers just as much, especially when they go through something very traumatic together. ... I hope that vet was fired for not having a heart and listening to reason. Wouldn't want her as a vet for my dog!!

A must watch, you will not regret it!

This a great story how a young woman turned her life around by joining the Marines and then going on to work with bomb detecting dogs in combat.

Based on a true story, this movie was heartwarming and inspiring! Corporal Megan Leavey joined the Marines to escape her life and found herself in Irag as dog-handler to Rex, an aggressive German shepherd who taught Megan about love and loyalty.

Inspirational. A love story that transcends the biology that normally generates a deep, genuine lifetime love. The love of a veteran and her dog share the commitment, love and trust in each other as a bomb sniffing team for the military in and out of a war zone. A team that develops a relationship and skill set that truly makes them an elite unit. A unit that for both of them is almost impossible to separate. All our military veterans, active or inactive deserve our admiration and gratitude. This film helps the viewer better see and understand our vets and gives us an opportunity to feel proud of who they are and what they do to protect and serve Americans.

First, I want to thank our Service people! There are more of us than you know. The movie from a civilian view was awesome. The fact that it was based on a true story is why I gave it 5 instead of 4 stars. It’s sadly more of a chick flick and why the few dissed it. I read the reviews before I watched it and to our awesome Marines – Hollywood is never going to get it accurate! They go for what we ignorant civies are going to watch.I not only thank Megan Leavey and Rex but our entire Armed Forces for doing what you do! I hope the actors did you justice because I think your awesome! Thank you for your service and sharing your story.

I loved this coming of age story between a woman and her military dog. I loved it so much that I bought a second copy for my Mom.

An amazing, well-written story based on a U.S. marine and her working dog! I felt like I was there with Megan and Rex on their missions, in their most dangerous experiences, and when they were reunited and honored at the movie's end. More humans should discover the pure, intelligent love of a loyal animal like Rex, a companion on life's difficult journeys. Feel the surprise of seeing such unlikely heroes save lives. Rex was part of Megan's family, and Kate Mara did an excellent job showing the emotions and adventure they shared. This film would be good to watch with your teenage children as they seek to make sense of life and their own futures.
