Really enjoyed the acting and cinematography. I have not read the novel this was based on, but understood from friends that the screenplay was a very good adaptation. Built up slowly, with lots of creepy tension and mystery (which I like in a movie), but the ending was...well, it was it what it was.

This is a movie that I watch again and again. It鈥檚 the type of movie where you see new things every time you watch. It鈥檚 also very disturbing, so I don鈥檛 watch it often. The actors give quality performances. The story is timeless. The direction is practically flawless. It鈥檚 a great movie to watch when you don鈥檛 know what you want to watch.

Violent, to say the least. Not for children.

This is one of the best films of the century. Javier Bardem, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, and the rest of the cast give excellent performances.

Best protrail of a psycho in modern times. Not your typical plot or ending that keeps you watching.

An absolute amazing movie. A good blend between a action/drama/comedy/western. You cannot go wrong with this movie and the general plot line...

Straight from the get-go, I was captivated by this movie. From the cinematic B-roll voiced-over by an all-too-familiar Texan accent, to the impeccable piece of acting from the lead antagonist. I am from Texas, and because this film takes place entirely in Texas this film has a warming feel to it, much like biscuits and gravy by a fireplace. The retro 70s feel while taking on a classic western style works perfectly. It is not a beat-to-death western like Gunsmoke or Bonanza (although I love me a good classic western), but it captures the theme and idea of a western but also depicts the threats of the modern era. Anton's character is reminiscent of Heath Ledger's joker, a completely captivating performance of someone who isn't right in the head. Many of the things he says make no sense, but that's the beauty of it. The symbolism in this movie is deep and revealing about the movies character, as well as the character of our changing world. A great piece of film that is a must see for those who don't mind semi-slow plot but enthralling story lines.

This movie was fascinating but unsatisfying because the viewer can't justifiably root for any character. Llewelyn Moss (played by Josh Brolin) garners some sympathy for his suffering while evading a ruthless killer, but his fate is predictable after he steals $2 million in drug money. Tommy Lee Jones as Sheriff Bell 鈥渇ights the good fight鈥?as he pursues hit man Anton Chigurh (played by Javier Bardem), but Bell seems bland and passionless while the crime network grows increasingly out of control. Javier Bardem is incredible as Anton; you can鈥檛 look away from his pale unlined face, strangely perfect haircut and obsession with cleanliness as he commits murders and gets shot. Bardem deserved the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (why not Best Leading Actor?), but I wish some rationale was offered for the character鈥檚 sadistic behavior.Maybe the whole point was to not have a plot based on the usual good vs. evil theme. The plot is as stark as the Texas desert landscape in panoramic view at the beginning of the movie. If you can stop looking for meaning in the unresolved and immoral corruption, you鈥檒l appreciate the film, but might have that 鈥渨hat just happened?鈥?feeling at the end.
