If you are a gray muzzle (like me) who poured quarters into arcade machines, or a young XBox player who loves modern graphics, this movie is great.Suitable for all ages (yes, a few bad words and arcade combat, NOT GORY), this is a great family film. Good acting, great story, and very entertaining. If you read the book, this follows it very well, with a few liberties for cinematic reasons.Get out the popcorn and Gobstoppers...it is Movie Night!

One of my newly added favorite movies. With vr out how it is now I think this movie is not too far from how future will be. Loved the many different references to classic movies and characters and how it incorporated them all together. I'm 29 and this has made it to my top 10 movies. The graffics and virtual effects are incredible. Recommend this to anyone and everyone.

I really enjoy the nostalgia I get watching this movie. However if you are interested in a more grown up version I highly suggest giving the books a chance also.Ready Payer One, and Ready Player Two

I luckily saw the movie before I read the book. They are both good but they are different enough that the movie is like a basic version of the book. Don鈥檛 be discouraged though. While the book is great, it probably doesn鈥檛 translate that great to the big screen. It takes place over a long period of time with big time lapses between any kind of action. The movie does a great job of telling the story while keeping the story moving at a pace that keeps you interested. I really did enjoy this movie even though it was pretty different from the book. A fun movie.

I love this movie and so does my son! It is such a futuristic gamer movie. Very interesting take on the future of the world and gaming. Really great story. I鈥檝e rented this several time and thought the purchase would be good

I am an oog - old, orginal gamer. I was 10 years old when Magnavox came out with the "Odyssey", the first (well excluding the brown box, which very few people had) game console for home use. This console played games that were silent - no sound, no sound effects. Then just a year later the wonderful (to us then) Atari came out, with the home version of Pong to play. Then Atari came out with the 2600 and I and millions of others have never looked back.This movie will appeal to you if you were one of us back in the day. You may not even still play video games, but this movie will still appeal. Fun, good message, not too deep, great graphics, er, animation and videography and lot's and lot's of pop culture references.I gave it four stars instead of five because so many of the references are wasted. But the story is solid and packed full of action, fast, furious, almost hard to keep up with, but I loved it.Nerds rule the world. Never forget that. This movie is an homage to them.

In no way did it do its book justice. Its relationship to the book is just the premise and a few key scenes.I'm not complaining as I'm not an avid fan of the author (he's fine) but if you're looking for a great adaptation of the book, don't buy or rent this.
