love, compation, and stong morals, which should be a goal for all mankind. Missing in todays movies and Pop culture.

My favorite movie of all time. The cast was perfect, the music captivating, the scenery breathtaking.

But this movie while taking liberties with the original work, is a beautiful and sweeping epic; substantially aided by breathtaking scenery, masterful cinimatography and moving scoring. This edition does not include the Clanad orginal song. Not suitable for students trying to avoid reading the difficult original work, but is a great period piece with enough action for the boys and smoldering romance for the girls.

I never watched this when it came out in the early 90's, but had heard about it. It was wonderfully done, Daniel Day-Lewis was mesmerizing, and I was struck at how it did not feel the least bit dated. I did not read the book, so can't compare, but for a movie, this had much "edge of your seat" action, romance (not overdone or oversexual), and beauty. And yes, DDL running through the woods makes for some rewinding and replaying!

One of the best films ever made. I'm not sure how many times I've seen this over the last..nearly 30 years...but it's still bot enough.
