Blake Lively does a great job carrying the entire movie! Great cinematography, beautiful scenery and impressive surfing! The only thing hard to swallow is the story: Beautiful young girl surfing by herself at a remote beach in Mexico! Nope never going to happen but I recommend the watch!

An excellent thriller. Fast paced, savage shark attacks, solidly acted and directed. I would say it is the second best shark movie after Jaws(although this is more a reflection of the low quality of most shark movies unfortunately). But still, don't let Blake Lively starring turn you off. She does a fine job and the script won't insult your intelligence.

Blake Lively is surprisingly good in this film. A couple of annoying plot points, but overall a decent suspense & shark movie.

Any 'shark" movie has to been compared to Jaws, and The Shallows come up a little short. The shark, its menacing attitude, and conclusion are a little predictable. Blake Lively does a fine job in what is essentially a single actor movie. Entertaining, but it won't keep you out of the water at the beach....

Film first sets the mood, beautiful sensitive young woman, finds her Mom's fave beach in MX, film starts to build, the the bell curve of drama kicks in. It is riveting, emotional, awesome cinematography. Ending was good but lacked a moral or significant resolution, except the was a capable survivor.

I wasn't sure how I would like this movie, or how good it would be, but it really surprised me. Blake Lively puts on quite the performance and it is intense, suspenseful, and you want to keep watching to see what will happen next. Both my husband and I loved it. Definitely worth the rental! If you love shark movies, I think you will especially enjoy this. Very cool!

For one actress and a shark carrying the whole show, not bad, not bad at all. I wasn't necessarily on the edge of my seat, but I was never that far away from it. Blake Lively put in a pretty believable performance that could've easily dissolved into camp. Good fun, if you can handle horror/thriller every once in a while.

By far a really creepy shark movie! I will not provide any details as I hate to ruin things for people ! It is a must see! I will say that she played a strong roll and there are some awesome twists in this film!
