I love this type of movie, insightful and very interesting as well as very realistic. The journey was worth it. I would have wished for a happy ending but life isn't like that, so being realistic it ended badly even though a lot of bravery and intelligence went into the story line.

Very similar to Full Metal Jacket but without the boot-camp scenes or the psychological torment of a sniper on your radio. Worth watching if you like or enjoy the brotherhood of military.

This was a Twilight Zone episode in the best sense of the word. What begins as a strange and scary situation quickly turns weird. The weirdness increases and our protagonist starts to come apart at the seams. In the resulting catharsis, he finds a measure of redemption. The good guys rally and fall short. Our hero rises above himself just as the cavalry arrives to save the day. Then comes a twist that would have made Rod Serling proud.
