Good movie

Well, let me just say...the critics have it wrong. Well, I do admit that that I have been an casual World of Warcraft player for a long time, I am by no means a hard core player. I am familiar with the story, but I'm not an addict or a fanatic. But, while I went into the movie with a lot of doubts because of all the bad review, I have to confess that I was blown away by the movie. First of course, the special effects were great, actually beyond great. The movie brings to life all the orcs and elfs and even the orlocks. But beyond that, there is a story line that, if you are into fantasy stuff at all, it a great moving story. There are many times that I was on the edge of my seat, and I was really rooting for one of the characters. This is a great movie and I recommend it to everyone. I believe in time it will be a classic. I think you will like the CGI and the character development. Enjoy.

I thought the story-line was excellent. I cared for the characters and have watched it three times now. Some of the action scenes are very memorable. The orc teeth/tusks I think made the actress talk a little weird. My largest complaint was the director's choice to use slow-mo during a fight scene while two prominent characters had a conversation in real-time. The whole time, I thought this dialogue is impossible. Besides those two bits, I would have given it 5 stars. I look forward to a sequel and would buy again.A note: I used to be a huge Warcraft fan (grew up with the RTSs and played WoW for the first four years). I love the story-arch and I hope they continue the movie franchise and I really hope it turns into 3 movies that cover the first 3 RTS games (maybe 4 if they cover the events between the first and second game). And then they release WC4.

Warcraft is considered an adult MA game yet I did not find anything over 13 years old that would be offended. Be aware their is no bad language, nudity, or backstory. This was considered for fans of the games between 7 and 14 yet with the strong violence, parents were skeptical of the film. More like a cartoon, it鈥檚 CGI replaces the them of the movie as a special effects extravaganza of no blood or gore you should buy.

I've been playing Blizzard games as long as there have been Blizzard games to play and never thought a movie could do justice to my ingame experience. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the movie not only stands on its own but serves as an enhanced experience to those of us who have played WoW for so many years. It would have been so easy to mess it up - CGI used badly and too often, a bias for one side over the other, an attempt to recreate one of the expansions, lore that didn't fit with the ongoing story. Yet they managed to avoid all these pitfalls. CGI didn't take over. As an example, the griffin scenes were just great, with the creature showing a definite personality and only used when it truly fit the action. The lore was a part of Azeroth, yet with new wrinkles we might have only speculated about from ingame events. The Horde was not portrayed as merely simple minded, heavily muscled killing machines, but rather thinking and feeling beings that you could develop a connection to and even a high level of respect. In short, I truly enjoyed this movie, far more than I thought I would, and hope that another one is in the works. For the Horde!

Weird movie but entertaining.

Very few people succeeded in making enjoyable video game adaptation. In fact most video game adaptations are so bad, that they tarnish the name of the game itself. People just don't believe anymore that movie about a video game can ever be successful. But this is a damn good short overview of the Warcraft world complete with amazing graphics and acting done very well, especially Travis Fimmel as Lothar and Paula Patton as Garona.I enjoyed it a lot it was immersive and it also made me remember my countless hours in Warcraft: orcs and humans as well as Warcraft 2: tides of darkness. It even made me remember one particular mission from W2: beyond the dark portal, I think where you command Gul'dan and take human's souls. -) In this movie even shields were like just like those lvl 3 armor upgrade icons in W2! Even ships on the map resemble human Destroyers) I just disappointed I haven't seen mages cast blizzard -) Oh.. Good times..I think I have never seen anything that good about a cult game I played almost 25 years ago!
