I have seen hundreds of movies but this one has to be the best. The acting is beyond good. This movie has a story---a very powerful one. It not only shows the animosity that existed between Indians and the white man, but as the story evolves we see a pathway that leads to a complete turn around in the feelings of these two groups of people. Most western movies that I have seen do not have the depth that this one has. A beautiful movie that taught me a lot, not just about that point in history(1892) but also about the human character---the souls that lie beneath seemingly tough people and how they evolve into people showing kindness and compassion. A must see!

Christian Bale at the height of his powers...The rest of the cast was impeccable. I loved the space the silence filled so loudly...There is a scene, where among all the violence and racial hatred and enmity of the times, the poise and confidence of the African American Cavalry Corporal( A Buffallo Soldier as I imagined them: capable NCO's and men) is shown as he was singing to God and praying at a burial was absolutely moving. It contrasted to his willingness to do as ordered by his superior....All in all one of my favorite movies of the western genre...

Whew... Not for the faint of heart. A good movie with an engaging premise, while you might not refer to it as "enjoyable" due to the heavy content. Bale's acting was fantastic as always, as were the supporting characters. Just, very violent. Worth watching if you have the stomach for it.Spoiler warning below (disturbing content warning):........Disturbing moment: A baby wrapped in a blanket is shot and killed early in the film. You never see the baby directly, it is shown as a bundle of blankets, but this moment is very emotional and intense in context.

I had already bought the bluray copy without realising the 4K was available . Bought this and have played it numerous times and shown people coming to the house parts of it. Everyone has loved what they saw both in 4K quality and the story. Stunning 4K at its best, great story ,great acting [although I’m not sure Christian Bale really looked “retirement age”] but brutally honest and therefore violent ,about those times from all perspectives . The ending was logical despite being a “slightly happy type conclusion” to a western movie . This is made much in the style of the superb ,The Wild Bunch which I keep watching again every few years. Hopefully that might be remastered in 4K.

This movie is about the personal struggles of a man, who has done things he is ashamed of, and hates those who are guilty of the same crimes against humanity, that he himself has committed.Say what you will about Christian Bale. This movie is likely the best role he has ever played.The story, acting, cinemaphotography, and every aspect of this film is top notch.I cannot recommend this film enough.
