Great performances from Adrien Brody and Guy Pierce. Both of them usually do not disappoint. The VistaVision is absolutely gorgeous, and used how it should be. But the butt rape scene was, how you say, totally uncalled for? Like, the power dynamic was already plainly obvious between them. The scene just ruined the tone of the film for me. Especially considering it's a totally fictional story. Felt like a cheap grab at shock value in the midst of an otherwise beautiful and engaging film.
